Information and Expectations Meetings/Events There will be a monthly meeting set forth by the student officers. Meetings will have various topics, guests, trips and activities. Failure to attend these activities may suspend or revoke your membership. Student Officers These positions will be voted on by the general membership in the beginning of the school year. Positions and duties are as follows. President (Presides over meetings, prepares an agenda for the meetings, representative and spokesperson of the Chapter, on and off campus, facilitates formation of chapter goals , provides motivation and encouragement to fellow officers and members) Vice President (Publicizes meeting and chapter activities, schedules guest speakers with assistance from other chapter officers, educates new members on the history of Tri-M, helps organize the induction ceremony, secondary representative of the Chapter, on and off campus) Secretary (Records the chapter minutes, handles correspondence for the chapter, including thank you letters and interactions with other Tri-M chapters, along with being the keeper of the Tri-M Service Notes ) TREASURER (Maintains membership records, prepares a chapter roster, maintains the chapter’s financial records) HISTORIAN (Teaches Tri-M Loyalty Song, Keeps record of chapter activities) Service Notes Notes are yearly service hours dealing with music. They must be separate from any other commitment, job or activity in which you use for service (no “double-dipping”). Some examples of Notes are; ushering at musical activities throughout the district, working with others on solos/music, helping at music camps (as long as you are not getting paid or using hours for another group), community events where you are an advocate of music that are not part of a graded system, etc. Expectations Since this is a music honor society and you must demonstrate “mastery” (as one of the M’s in Tri-M), please expect to perform in front of people throughout the year at meetings, school events, community events and anywhere else Tri-M is being represented. You must also perform at the annual Chamber Ensemble concert. Dues: Fees are not collected until acceptance into the society. Initial Start-up dues - registration ($8), certificate, ($2), emblem pin & polo $35. Yearly Continuing dues - Yearly registration $8. Graduation Rope $14. Replacement Polo $15. Replacement Pin $10.
