Dilatation and Curettages Instruments
Vaginal Speculum
Vaginal speculums to spread and hold
open your vaginal walls during an exam.
This allows them to see your vagina and
cervix more easily.
Ovum Forceps
Ovum Forceps are usedto grasp, hold,
manipulate and remove tissue from
inside the uterus including the ovum
and placenta. Ovum forceps are used
during procedures such as caesarean
section, hysterectomy, and uterine
repair and are also sometimes used as
a haemostats.
Cervical Dilators
An Osmotic (Cervical) Dilator is commonly
usedto gently open the cervix before a
gynaecologic procedure that requires the
cervix to be open, allowing access to the
uterus and fallopian tubes. Cervical dilation
reduces the risk of injury to the cervix during
such a procedure.

Tenaculum Forceps are finger-ring and ratcheted instruments commonly used in OB/GYN procedures that require manipulation of uterus or cervix and are used in abdominal or vaginal hysterectomy. They are used to hold, grasp, and move arteries and vessels during surgical procedures. Curette Curette is used to scrape (rather than vacuum out) the contents of the uterus, the procedure is called dilatation and curettage. Uterine Sound Uterine Sound is commonly used for probing and dilating the uterus through the cervix. It is primarily used to measure the length of the cervical canal and uterus. The sound features a flat handle and a malleable shaft that is available in graduated centimeters or inches.
