Vaginal Speculum Vaginal speculums to spread and hold open your vaginal walls during an exam. This allows them to see your vagina and cervix more easily. Ovum Forceps Ovum Forceps are used to grasp, hold, manipulate and remove tissue from inside the uterus including the ovum and placenta. Ovum forceps are used during procedures such as caesarean section, hysterectomy, and uterine repair and are also sometimes used as a haemostats. Cervical Dilators An Osmotic (Cervical) Dilator is commonly used to gently open the cervix before a gynaecologic procedure that requires the cervix to be open, allowing access to the uterus and fallopian tubes. Cervical dilation reduces the risk of injury to the cervix during such a procedure. Tenaculum Forceps
Tenaculum Forceps are finger-ring and ratcheted instruments commonly used in OB/GYN procedures that require manipulation of uterus or cervix and are used in abdominal or vaginal hysterectomy. They are used to hold, grasp, and move arteries and vessels during surgical procedures. Curette Curette is used to scrape (rather than vacuum out) the contents of the uterus, the procedure is called dilatation and curettage. Uterine Sound Uterine Sound is commonly used for probing and dilating the uterus through the cervix. It is primarily used to measure the length of the cervical canal and uterus. The sound features a flat handle and a malleable shaft that is available in graduated centimeters or inches.
