A relation between dc and ac quantities
- Consider the set up shown in the figure.
- A resistor is placed in the water bath and is connected to the ac and dc switch.
- When switch 1 is closed current I will pass through the resistor.the temperature of the water determines the dc power dissipated by the resistor.
- When switch 2 is closed and 1 is opened. Again current flows. Again the power delivered to the resistor heats up the resistor.
