Basic Speech Outline (60 points)

labels) before they speak
Purpose statement (one sentence) – 2 points: I will inform the audience about how I am a
good mother to my children.
Audience Analysis: (4 points) My audience consists of approximately 45 Merritt College
students. The majority of my audience is female, has a high school diploma or GED as their
highest level of education, the audience comes from diverse cultural and ethnic
backgrounds.
Introduction:
ATTENTION GETTER: (5 points) How many of you in the class are parents?
PREVIEW OF MAIN POINTS: (5 points) Today, I will share with you how my children
form a big part of my life.Then, I will explain how much I care about them and finally, the love
I have for them.
MAIN POINT I: (8 points) How my children form a big part of my life.
My children are the best version that I have in my life. They bring me a lot of joy and
happiness. My children are my inspiration and motivation to move forward and to accomplish
my goals. I’m taking these courses to give them a good future, and to be the best example
for them.
