BREXIT 500 - 650 PAROLE
INTRODUZIONE : cos’è la brexit, quando è avvenuta…
CAUSE
CONSEGUENZE PRO
CONSEGUENZE CONTRO
NORD IRLANDA
SCOZIA
NOTIZIA ATTUALE
INTRODUZIONE
Brexit is the withdrawl of the united kingdom from the european union and after a lot of postpones and
negotiations eventually the united kingom left on the 31st of January 2020 and in the end a deal between the
UK and EU was made.
CAUSE
CONTROL OF THE BORDERS: The main reason why the united kingdom wanted to leave the European uninion
was about a better control of the borders which means limitations to the immigration. Indeed for a EU citizen
to travel to any country of the European union it’s enough to have an id card, while with the Brexit if we want
to visit London for example, we need the visa which costs money but above all we won’t be able to decide on
the spot to go to UK, there’s a much longer process now.
SECURITY: this second cause is directly linked to the previous one, indeed a much stricter control of the borders
leads to a minor movement of guns and criminals from the European union to the united kingdom.
SOVEREIGNITY and FREEDOME: the Brexit is also a way for the uk to get back entirely its sovreignity indeed it
won’t be ruled anymore by brouxelles and it will sottract to the burocracy of the European union and will be
able to set commercial agreements with other countries.
COSTS: finally staying in the ue is very expensive so the UK will sottract to those costs as well.
CONSEQUENCES
The consequences of Brexit are a lot and they influence both the united kingdom and the European union.
Some of them are:
TRAVELLING: there is an issue about travelling: as I said before it will be much more difficult for the people to
travel to the UK because now a visa is required and the process is much longer and complex
ERASMUS: then an another consequence is about the Erasmus: british students won’t be able to take part to it
anymore and on the opposite EU students won’t have the possibility to have an Erasmus in London for
example.

DUTIES: finally there will be an issue about trading indeed now that the UK has left the EU, trades between these parts involve duties so buying producs coming from the united kingdom will be much more expensive and the same applies on the opposite SCOZIA The decision of the united kingdom to leave the European union caused several troubles in different countries but above all in Scotland and northern Ireland. Indeed Scotland has always pointed out that it didn’t want to leave the eu, so they’re actually thinking of becoming independent from the united kingdom in order to be able get back to the European union but this is very difficult to put into practice and will surely bring about several problems. IRLANDA DEL NORD Despite this issue about Scotland, the situations reaches the highest tension in northern Ireland in which there were some outbreaks of violence linked to the Brexit. The situation in northern Ireland is extremely delicate because now it’s not part of the European union anymore while the rest is. This will have heavy effects on the trades between northern Ireland and the republic of Ireland, but there’s more! There will be limitations on the immigration, on the local economies and services and so on… so the situation would be extremely difficult and complicated for ireland. The situation now is extremely critical because in the beginning of April some troubles happened especially in Belfast and Londonderry. this has been caused by the Brexit. now on the border between the two parts of Ireland new criteria for the control of goods are in use. The violence bursted out in april because the police service of northern Ireland refused to condam the members of the sin fein party who took part to a funeral and this is against anti-covid laws. So several policemen were attacked and hurt and in some cases even killed. Then the crisis became even more severe when the prime minister of northern Ireland Arlene foster resigned and this again happened during a period of protests so the situation is now even more critical. NEWS I ve just read a very recent news about Brexit and it seems that one Italian out of ten is going to leave the united kingdom because they’re worried about their future, for example one of their fears is that they will be treated as second-class citizens.
