Parameters of Ethical Decision Making BUS-FP
Making proper ethical decisions require sensitivity to ethical issues and a practiced means of conducting an exploration of the ethical aspects of a particular decision. Furthermore, it involves weighing the possibilities that should cause an impact on the choice of an action course (Bento et al., 2020). Employee refers to a person who works for someone else to get paid. Additionally, an employee can be defined as one employed by the other usually for salary and wages. Moreover, the quality of ethical decisions made by an organization or company directly affects the employees. There exist various approaches to enhance ethical decision making. This essay explains the various methods used to ensure ethical decision making and analyzing the approach that I feel work best. The various approaches to ethical decision making consist of; utilitarian approach, which provides answers to the questions on what harms and benefits each course of action taken will produce and the alternative that would result into the best consequences overall. Furthermore, the rights approach, which provides answers to the question regarding the rights of the affected party and the course of action which represents the rights best (Bento et al., 2020). Third, the fairness approach which provides a person with the chance to meditate if the action to be taken is fair to the people. Fourth, the common good approach which assists us in deciding when the action to be taken is only suitable for ourselves or the community at large. Lastly, the virtue approach which assists a person in reflecting what kind of a person he/she is and what influence that will have on the character. The approach that I feel works best in resolving ethical dilemmas is the fairness approach which is concerned with other people who are likely to affect by the decision. Applied to the unethical treatment of employees, it will assist the management in determining the quality of their decisions by meditating whether the decision will be fair to the employees or not.
