AIM: This assignment aims to present a realistic perspective on Information Systems (IS) in business and their implications in real business world. The assignment also aims to provide students with the skills they can use to be effective business leaders in their organization. The assignment further covers the core IS principles, changing role of IS professional, a framework in the business uses of technology with which every business professional should be familiar.

You are required to select a Myanmar Business Company which is currently using different kind
of Business Information Systems for their business processes.
Next, you need to identify what kind of information systems are being used for each of its
business departments or units in Myanmar.
You are further required to prepare a report detailing how the information systems are making
the business successful.
Your report should include:
A. Executive Summary
B. Introduction
C. Identification of the types of Business Information Systems
- Identify what kind of Information Systems are being used at the Myanmar Company
- Explain about each of the IS used and their importance at the Myanmar Company
- How this business information systems is enabling the company to be more
successful
D. Evaluation of the Business Information Systems
Your evaluation should be based on system elements such as:
- Hardware: Input, Processing, and Output Devices
- Software: Systems and Application Software
- Database Systems and Business Intelligence
- Telecommunications and Networks
- The Internet, Intranets, and Extranets
- Advantages and Disadvantages of each implication

- Identify either the IS is outsourced or developed by the own Myanmar Company

It is unacceptable to discuss problems during a formative assessment and will result in at least the loss of all marks in that component of the module and possible exclusion from the program. Where cheating is found for an element of the assessment for a module then that element of the assessment may be marked down or failed. There could be several outcomes:
- (^) If the student is marked down then this will be on the basis of marking the achieving taking into account the knowledge and skills displayed and discounting any possible unfair advantage.
- If the student failed in the assessment then the student will have to undertake a further assessment (as a first retake) for that element where the highest mark

achievable will be a minimum pass mark. The required second assessment does not have to be in the same format as the first.
- It may also be considered that the student will not be allowed to be passed on that module even though the aggregate mark taking into account a failed element could be a pass. If a student fails a module as a result of this penalty then the module will have to be retaken in the normal way. Penalties cannot be applied to the new program.
- For more serious cases the student may be required to take the test as a second test, thus failure of the test would result in failure of the module. If a student fails a module as a result of this penalty then the module will have to be retaken in a normal way. Penalties cannot be applied to the new program.
- In extreme cases the student may be denied the opportunity for any retake which would then result in failure on the module.
