Quick Cardiovascular Cheat Sheet
Hypertension: High BP → headache, stroke risk. Tx: low sodium, ACE
inhibitors, diuretics.
CAD: Plaque buildup in coronary arteries → angina, SOB. Tx: statins, stents.
Angina: Chest pain relieved by rest/nitro.
MI (Heart Attack): Severe chest pain + diaphoresis. MONA = Morphine,
Oxygen, Nitro, Aspirin.
Heart Failure: Left = lungs, Right = body edema. Daily weights important.
AFib: Irregular rhythm → stroke risk. Tx: anticoagulants.
DVT: Blood clot in leg. Do NOT massage.
PAD: Poor circulation → cool legs, claudication.
