COMMUNICATION STRATEGY

It is a strategy that constrains or restricts the Response of the other person involved in the Communication Situation. Ex. “Do you think electromagnetic waves are harmful but beneficial to humans?”

TURN-TAKING COMMUNICATION STRATEGY It is a strategy recognizing when and how to speak because it is one’s turn. Ex. “I think you should go and tell him what you feel.” “Let me explain. It was just an accident.”

TOPIC SHIFTING COMMUNICATION STRATEGY It is a strategy introducing a new topic followed by the continuation of that topic. Ex. “It is true that we need money but it doesn’t mean that we should become slaves by material things. We can never bring them to our grave. What we own in earth, we will leave on earth.”

REPAIR COMMUNICATION STRATEGY It is a strategy that overcomes communication breakdown to send more comprehensible messages. Ex. “To get the answer, you must times, I mean, multiply the value inside the parenthesis.” “That’s not what I meant.”

TOPIC CONTROL

“ You can’t judge a person’s decision if you don’t know the choices he had to choose from. Am I right? Lizzie, would you still think that a prostitute is a disgrace when you knew that she’s an orphan, raped when she was 17 and doesn’t have any choice but to sell herself to let his son live?”

TERMINATION

“Ooops! It’s already time. I need to go. See you later.”
