1. APPLICATION OF COMPUTER GRAPHICS IN ANIMATION

Entertainment

Computer graphics is applied in animations whereby computers are used in making cartoon animation films.

User interfaces

Graphical interfaces provide an attractive and easy interaction between users and computers. The built-in graphics provided with user interfaces use visual control items such as buttons, menus, icons, scroll bar etc, which allows user to interact with computer only by mouse-click

Computer-aided drafting and design

The computer –aided drafting uses graphics to design components and systems electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical and electronic devices such as automobile bodies, structures of building, airplane, and ships, very large scale integrated chips, optical systems and computer networks.

Simulation and Animation

Use of graphics in simulation makes mathematic models and mechanical systems more realistic and easy to study. The interactive graphics supported by animation software proved their use in production of animated movies and cartoons films.

Process Control

By the use of computer now it is possible to control various processes in the industry from a remote control room. In such cases, process systems and processing parameters are shown on the computer with graphic symbols and identifications. This makes it easy for operator to monitor and control various processing parameters at a time.

Education and training

Computer graphics is applied in animations whereby computer graphics can be used to generate models of physical aids. Models of physical systems, physiological systems, population trends, or equipment, such as color –coded diagram can help trainees to understand the operation of the system.

Aerospace Industry

Aircraft designer use computers to simulate the airflow over the wings. The air patterns around the wings are displayed on the graphics monitor. The patterns of the shock waves around the aircraft give the designer an idea about the area that may create unwanted turbulence

Cartography Computer graphics

It is used to produce accurate and schematic representation of geographical and other natural phenomena from measurement data. Examples include ' geographic maps, relief maps, exploration maps for drilling and mining, oceanographic charts, weather maps, contour maps and population density maps

.

2. APPLICATION OF COMPUTER GRAPHICS IN GEOMETRY

Presentation graphics It is used to summarize financial, statistical, mathematical, scientific and economic data for research and occur types of reports e.g. Bar charts, line graphs, pie charts

Graphical information system Geographical info system refer to a technique for the assembly, integration and analysis of features, text, tabular and graphic data base for purpose of better understanding.

Plotting of graphics and chart In industry, business, government, and educational organizations, computer graphics is most commonly used to create 2D and 3D graphs of mathematical, physical and economic functions in form of histograms, bars and pie-charts. These graphs and charts are very useful for decision making

Bitmap graphic

A bitmap is a collection of pixels that describes an image, in human terms, a complete picture. A bitmap can be of various bit depth and resolution. Basically, a bitmap is an array of pixels. Bitmapped graphics

Image processing is to apply techniques to modify or interpret existing pictures. It is widely used in medical applications

Medical technology

Today, computerized axial topography (CAT) is used to compose the three-dimensional model of the brain by taking multiple X-rays of it. CAT scan is very useful in detecting various maladies like brain tumors. Computers are also useful to generate images of delicate organs. It is useful to study the effect of drugs on tissues.

Art and Commerce

There is a lot of development in the tools provided by computer graphics. This allows user to create artistic pictures which express message and attract attentions. Such pictures are very useful in advertising.
