Impact of Social Media Multitasking on Academic Performance: A Conceptual Framework, Assignments of English

This document proposes a conceptual framework to investigate the influence of social media usage and multitasking behavior on the academic performance of Malaysian university students. The framework examines the contribution of social media to academic outcomes and acts as a baseline for future research.

ABSTRACT

Social media has become an almost crucial part of our regular life, especially among university students as they are generally using social media excessively in their daily activities like attending classes, doing homework or solving assignments. This study was aimed at investigating the impact of the multitasking of the social media on students’ academic performance. A conceptual framework is proposed for the investigation into the influence of social media usage and social media multitasking behavior on the academic performance of undergraduate students. The conceptual framework discussed in this paper examined the contribution of social media to the academic outcomes of Malaysian university students and it will act as a baseline for future empirical research in this area INTRODUCTION Today, thanks to the development of mediums, the world has changed dramatically from physical globes to Internet spheres. Sites Centralized plus out of established Internet for people with similar interests. Over the past two centuries, extreme use of social media has grown on a global scale. Since words can mean different things in different contexts, social media was ranked , allowing users to disperse their ideas, opinions, interests, agenda, and others Masood, Luqman, Feng and Ali (2020). At the same time, social networking sites are a place to use the internet, where individuals post data and are available to others, namely to individuals people sharing concerns are equivalent to Greenhow and Lewin (2016). By way of illustration, the famous social networking sites used are Tumblr, Facebook, Vine, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. Users of social networking sites love to learn digital text because these new mediums are easy to access, portable, inexpensive, motivating, and some texts can be stored in a laptop their hands or smartphones (Md Mahadhi & Faridah Ibrahim, 2017). VARIABLE ANALYSIS This section presents an analysis of assessing variables from previous studies based on from four parts, namely, social media , media social media multitasking and automatic-efficient and learning. Social Media According to Hepworth, Rooney, Rooney and StromGottfried (2016), social networks create a digital media network that allows users to share information to which the public can subscribe or produce news content as the sender and receiver of data.. While Buettner (2016) introduced social media as basic web tools that enable the public and businesses to create and share data, thoughts, photos, exchanges and virtual systems. Thus, social media are websites and/or applications that allow users to create and submit articles or engage in social media.

Social Cognitive Theory Social Perception Theory provides a system out of out of which psychosocial components , through which symbolic communication influences ideas, human influences and activities, analyzed and identified. Communication frameworks work in two ways: instant channels and social channels. Surname Encourage Change Immediate equal to Teach, Empower, Convince and Manage Membership (Bandura (2006).According to social interventions, media has an impact. impact on employees' connection to social systems and network settings provide special motivations and continue request change in one person. Because wide transmission communication has a convincing position in public interested, il is out of important meaningful to understand psychosocial factors that communication represents influence people's ideas, influences, and activities. A theoretical structural agent to examine the determinants and structure of these effects is social cognitive theory. Human behavior , out of where conduct is produces and regulated by environmental impact or internal regulation , is frequent classification follows to one-way causality. The Cognitive Theory of Topics Perception of sub-processes by Salvucci and Taatgen (2008) is a multi-resource theory that aims to clarify psychological procedures and outcomes of multitasking practice. It depends on ACTR (ThoughtRational Adaptive Control ), a computational model of design thinking that attempts to recognize and talk about important structures and processes (Martin & Sujatha) (2016) ) The underlined perception supports that there are a number of properties for different intellectual procedures, including a set of foci for procedural memory (that is, around individual specific goals. as a self-sustaining subjective 'chain' (or multiple chains for complex tasks). Conceptual Framework Given in the past theoretical models accessible and surveys out of found contradictions , this text proposes conceptual frameworks literature approach by academic which clearly match results for social media use, social media multitasking , student learning performance, and results student learning.

CONCLUSION

The growth of social media use has changed many different behaviors in the student community, which has also influenced in a new way out of learning and doing homework. This text reviewed documents related to recommendations framework of social media impact out of learning outcomes for Malaysian university students. In addition, the risk associated with individuals using social media in their daily lives with multitasking to self-efficacy and academic performance requires further research to understand the relationship. actual relationship between them and the degree of influence. Also this write try to out of with obvious includes out of real relations and if is positive or negative combination pole with success Student's study of which can be verified to empirical survey. Therefore, our framework is suggested on student multitasking possible lead to future research to validate the model in quantitative research. REFERENCES Arbona, C. (2016).
