Final Project – Software Project Management Plan
Objective
To take what you have learned in CSSE 372 about planning, estimation, risk, and
scheduling, and apply it to your CSSE 371/374/375 Junior Project. This is a team
project and will bring an element of realism to the effort as this is big enough and
the quality expectation is such that it should be relatively demanding for a team
of 2-3 team members.
There are many other details covered in the class that will certainly contribute to
your knowledge about planning and will help with this plan. Be creative and
resourceful and you will find this experience rewarding. Good luck and have fun!
Due Date
11:55 p.m., Friday, Week 9, November 2nd, 2012. This is a hard deadline since
it is also the day that the Final Projects are distributed between teams for review.
Hence, late days cannot be used on this assignment.
Final Project Instructions
Based on the requirements and experience that you have gained in CSSE 371,
each CSSE 372 team will generate a viable software project management plan
(SPMP) for the final project.
Tasks
1. The SPMP Template (CSSE372_Template_SWProjPlan.doc) is provided
for you to use on this assignment (a link for it is on the schedule page).
This document contains embedded instructions for the specific sections
and a grading rubric of what is expected.
Please use this document for your assignment. You may enhance it from
an aesthetic perspective; however, please do not change the ordering of
the sections as I will be grading them section by section and I need them
to remain in the order provided.
Please remove the instructions (text in red). Also remove the example
text in the initial paragraphs. Replace it with material in your own words
and reflecting your CSSE Junior Project.
2. As will be indicated in an email soon to be sent, get with your selected
project team members, and please contact your Project Manager/Advisor
and set up a time to introduce yourselves and get some initial instructions
on this final project assignment. If there are questions that they cannot
answer, please do not hesitate to contact me.
