power is the ability to enforce one's will over the will
of others, it presupposes the domination of one's wish
over the wish of others without room for
resistance.there are types of power such as military
power,constitutional power,economic power e.t.c
power im some cases is hereditary while authority is
often vested .for example,the traditional power is
manifested in the lives of the king, not everybody can
become a king .a selected few are given such a
priviledge to hold traditional power. on the other
hand authority is the capacity to imfluence others
* power can be delegatef out e.g tje provost of college
of dducation can delegate it's power to his vice but
the authority he has is constitutionalised and cannot
be delegatef out.
both authority and power have different premises
while authority becomes constitutionally acceptef
when it is obeyed, the other ( power) os a kins of
command and when obeyed it has legitimate basis.
