Emotional Intelligence Emotional intelligence is the capacity to identify, comprehend, and control both our own and other people's emotions. It entails being conscious of our feelings, skillfully managing them, having empathy for other people, and addressing interpersonal situations delicately and tactfully. In many facets of life, particularly in business and in areas like education and interpersonal relationships, emotional intelligence is regarded as essential. According to Manoranjan (2018), its concept was made a household term by popular psychologists John D. Mayer and Peter Salovey in the nineties. They suggested that it comprises a set of abilities different from conventional intelligence tests. They stressed the role that emotional intelligence plays in fostering social and emotional wellness and how it affects many aspects of daily life, such as problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork. According to the founders, emotional intelligence is essential in the workplace because it enables people to handle stress, collaborate and communicate with coworkers, and resolve issues. They affirmed that emotional intelligence raises job performance, improves leadership skills, and leads to general organizational success. Awareness of emotional intelligence during my internship will have a significant impact as it will help in understanding and controlling my emotions during trying circumstances in addition to handling difficult jobs or getting feedback. Additionally, it will make it easier to communicate effectively and develop strong bonds with subordinates and superiors, which will increase productivity and teamwork.
