Task 1: Description
SPPSPPS
Sense (not vision), Perspective
The salt from the sea lined my lips - I could taste the ocean and the sharp sting of its
mineral-rich water. Curving palms lined the town-side of the beach, gently swaying in the
wind and leaning into the sun’s harsh rays. Scalding sand was golden and shifting beneath
my feet, stretching far into the distance - a yellow interruption between expanses of green
and blue on either side. As each wave rolled into the shore, a soft thud sounded as the foam
hit the sand. Crystal and turquoise, the water reflected the clear skies above and eventually
graded into a sapphire homogeneity in the distance. Beautiful foliage lay up ahead on the
other side of the beach, a hill decorated in evergreens ranging from emerald to sage.
Delicious wafts of refreshing coconut water reached me as a man nearby broke his day’s
collection, offering it to thirsty beach-goers.

The layered dust laying atop the shelves, I could almost taste it, the thought of it making me want to vomit. The trees with missing leaves, standing incredibly still making them lifeless. The weeds creeping onto the worn out stairs, invading the last signs of life near the house. The crooked bricks on the side scratching my arms whenever I touch them. The darkness creeps outside the house taking over what it now owns. The wobbly patio creaking with every step. Crickets chirping throughout the open garden and weaving throughout the overgrown grass, owls screeching in the darkening sky.

  1. Stick to one tense - past
  2. Start the sentence with something other than ‘The’
  3. Include devices Rotten shelves full of prizes laid there covered in dust, the rust slowly covering all the metallic hard earned gifts, the stench of the wood left me unwilling to breathe. Thin trees with missing leaves stood incredibly still, making them lifeless. Sly weeds creeped onto the worn out stairs, invading the last signs of life near the house. Crooked bricks on the side clawed my arms whenever I touched them. The darkness expanded outside the house taking over its area. The gaping holes in between the wood panels clearly have been eaten throughout time. Crickets chirped throughout the open garden and weaving throughout the overgrown grass, owls screeching in the darkening sky.

collection of gold coins, their surfaces aged and glinting with a faint, otherworldly light. My fingers trembled as I reached inside, pulling out a handful of coins, their weight heavy with centuries of history. The treasure chest, worn by time, was small but intricately carved, its edges covered in barnacles and seaweed.
