Example Desktop , Laptop , note book , ultra book , chrome book , etc. (3) Basic types of computer : Mini computer : (mid 1960s) A minicomputer has all the features of a large size computer, but it’s size is smaller than those. They are mainly multiple users system. (4) Example : o IBM,S AS/400e , o Honey well 200 Mainframe computer : (1950s) They are used by large organizations for critical applications; bulk data processing , such as census. They are large and more processing power. (5) Example : o IBM SYSTEM Z o IBM Z System Z o IBM 704 Super computer : (1964) It performs currently highest operational rate for computers. They have been used for scientific and engineering applications that must handle very large data bases or do great amount of computation. (6) Example : o Belle o Deep blue o Hydra Microcomputer : (1970s and 1980s) A small , relatively in expensive computer with a microprocessor as it's CPU. It consists of microprocessor, memory and input/output circuitry mounted on a single printed circuit board. (7) Example : o personal computer o desktop computers o mobile phone o tablets PCS
