a. Environment: the surroundings or conditions in which a
person, animal, or plant lives or operates.
b. Environmentalism: concern about and action aimed at
protecting the environment.
c. Renewable Resource: resources that continue to exist
despite being consumed
d. Nonrenewable resource: natural resource that cannot be
readily replaced by natural means at a pace quick enough
to keep up with consumption.
e. Sustainability: development that meets the needs of the
present without compromising the ability of future
generations to meet their own needs.
