As a creature develops and grows, coordinated compound responses enact and deactivate parts of the genome at critical times and in particular areas. This is known as Epigenetics, the investigation of these synthetic responses and the components that impact them. This appeared to be unmistakably individual from nature, impacting a system of substance switches inside our cells, known as the epigenome. This new comprehension may lead us to intense new therapeutic treatments. One of them is the Epigenetic disease treatment, which as of now, is yielding promising results. Epigenetics is an inherited trait that can originate through other variations outside of DNA molecules. This prevents certain genes from being expressed because epigenetics is a silent gene. Individuals may have a different pattern of epigenetic modifications because people are exposed to different environments and practices. This explains why even identical twins have their differences. It is also said that epigenetic modification may be passed on to the next generations. In the video, the scientist has two fat yellow mice and one skinny mouse. The difference between the mice is the yellow mouse's agouti gene stays on and the brown mouse's agouti gene shuts down. The yellow mouse agouti gene stays on, causing obesity. While the brown mice agouti gene shuts down by a tiny chemical tag of carbon and hydrogen, called a methyl group. It is the same with human genetics. Methyl groups and other small molecular tags can attach to different locations on the histone proteins, each one having a different effect. Some tags in some locations loosen the attachment between the DNA and the histone, making the DNA more accessible to the proteins that are responsible for activating the genes in that region. Other tags in other locations do the opposite or attract other proteins with other specific functions. There are epigenetic marks that cluster around the start points of genes; there are marks that cover long stretches of DNA, and others that affect much shorter regions. In my opinion, epigenetics is a scientific field that has a lot of potentials and is quite fascinating. I believe it has the potential to enhance human health in a variety of different ways. I am curious to get a deeper understanding of epigenetics and the ways in which it might be used for the betterment of human health.

Living to 100 Questionnaire According to my findings after completing this questionnaire, my understanding of epigenetics after writing this essay, and knowledge of my family history, I came to the conclusion that the best ways to improve health and longevity are the following: Have a healthy and balanced diet: Eat different kinds of plant foods such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. While we already know this, some may not be fond of consuming these kinds of foods. Some people make juice out of mixed fruits with leafy vegetables such as spinach. You can always try different ways to have that fruits and vegetables in your body. Drink a lot of water and reduce sodas, alcoholic beverages, or processed juice drinks. (Watch calorie intake). Stay physically active: Instead of driving, you could walk or ride a bike. Avoid stress and anxiety : Stress is one contributor to sickness or diseases. Life without it would really be so much better, that is why you have to avoid all the stressors as much as possible. As this may sound ideal, we know that there is so much that can contribute to our stress. However, you can always practice positive thinking to help you handle stress in a way that will have a lesser effect on your mental and overall health.
