Assignment # 01
Solution
It is obvious to observe that the meaning of faith makes it too easy for Islam to be felt in every aspect of
life. Islam asserts that true faith pose a potent effect on spiritual and material side of life. It also shapes
his personal behavior and his relation to the society. His political thinking and financial sides are also
tackled by this very concept of faith.
In this way, God demands faith out of gratitude towards man's creator. It does not confine it to the hour
of need wholly. It comes to the surface that a true believer trusts in the divine assistance awarded by
Almighty and he does not wait any longer for any urgent call from the ordinary world. The Holy Quran
attaches a stigma to those who remembers their creator only when they feel a demand from the need
and when their wish comes true, they forget it as is stated in Surat 39:8, for example,”
"When some trouble touched man he crieth unto his Lord, turning to Him in repentance: but when He
bestoweth a favour upon him as from Himself, (man) doth forget what he cried and prayed for before,
and he doth set up rivals unto Allah, thus misleading others from Allah's Path. Say, 'Enjoy thy diselief for
a little while: verily thou art (one) of the Companions of the Fire!'"
In the same way the Koran condemns the Arabic Bedouins, who confess Islam publicly, but who do not
believe it in their hearts.
"The desert Arabs say, 'We believe.' Say, 'Ye have no faith; but ye (only) say, 'We have submitted our
Wills to Allah,' for not yet has Faith entered your hearts." (Surat 49:14)
A true Muslim traces Allah s grandeur and supremacy keeping in view his own place as His servant
before Almighty. Actually, a faithful feels greatly indebted towards Allah for he takes Him as a source of
eternal goodness. He takes His revelation as law. The faith of a Muslim shapes up his concept of the Day
of Judgment.
The Holy Qur’an defines the required measures and establishes the standards which build up a meaningful Faith.
Because Islam requires a faith out of gratitude towards Allah, not out of calculation in a momentary
situation of need. The Holy Quran says that in a momentary situation a true believer should be patience
and have faith in Allah and must treat the situation a test.
Here are some examples to show how the Qur’an describes the true believers and the faith of believers
towards the creator of man (Allah).
"And be steadfast in patience: For verily Allah will not suffer the reward of the righteous to
perish. (11:115)"
"Nay, seek (Allah's) help With patient perseverance And prayer: It is indeed hard, except To those who
bring a lowly spirit -- Who bear in mind the certainty That they are to meet their Lord, And that they are
to return to Him. (2:45-46)"

Allah (S.W.T) requires that the believer should be stead firm in suffering and pain and be patient his submissiveness should only towards his creator; he should not be feared by suffering and pain because nothing in the world could harm a faithful man.

"Say: 'Nothing will happen to us except what God has decreed for us: He is our protector': and on God let the Believers put their trust. (9:51)"

“They only are the true believers whose hearts feel submissive (and humble) when God is mentioned; and when the revelations of God are recited unto them, they (the revelations) increase and strengthen their Faith; and who trust in their Lord, establish the prayer (as enjoined on them) and spend of what We have bestowed on them (in the cause of God). Those are they who are in truth believers. For them are (high) grades (of honor) with their Lord, and a bountiful provision (Qur’an, 8:2-4).”
