The Lunar New Year also known as the Chinese New Year, It is especially
Celebrated in East and South East Asian countries. 2022 is the year of the Water
Tiger.
We celebrate Chinese New Year on Tuesday, February 1.
Here are some Filipino families Chinese New Year Traditions:
General cleaning, some families generally clean every inch of their homes
or at least try to welcome the new year with a fresh start. Family
gathering, sharing a reunion dinner on the eve of the first of Chinese New
Year. Lion Dance, commonly practiced in establishments. The dance,
accompanied by a loud drum beat, was believed to bring good luck and
prosperity. It symbolizes the battle between good ( lion ) and evil spirits (
dancers ).
Food, an abundance of food on the table when welcoming the Chinese New Year
is believed to also bring abundance of food on the table, one staple Chinese New
Year food should always be present the tikoy. Fireworks, just like lion dance,
when you light fireworks are said to drive away the evil spirits and welcome the
