Purpose:
This homework is intended to establish basic familiarity with Windows and Email and use of the
Wentworth Network.
Description:
YOU MUST SUBMIT THIS HOMEWORK AS AN EMAIL ATTACHMENT (ie – that is part of the
homework). Make sure you send it to the above email address, and NOT the WIT email address.
You attachment is a ZIP file with the following iterms:
- a Word document that contains
oyour Name and email address
oa statement regarding how you personally back up your files
oa screen shot of your “My Documents” folder
oa screen shot of the “display properties” window of your desktop settings
oa screen shot of a search of all the files on your computer with the “.zip” extension that
were created or modified within the last year.
- an EXCEL document
- a GIF,TIF,or JPEG picture you got off of the internet (please – no “unsuitable” pictures)
- a PowerPoint document
Except for the Word document, the contents of the other documents should be short and of your own
choosing.
Extra Credit:
Explain how looking at your documents from “My Documents” menu item differs from looking at it by
navigating down through the root of the C drive. ( IE by navigating to C:\Documents and Settings\
username… What are some folders that you see in one view and not the other view. Why do you think
there is such a difference?
