Purpose:
This homework is intended to establish basic familiarity with MS-Word
Description:
YOU MUST SUBMIT THIS HOMEWORK AS AN EMAIL ATTACHMENT (ie – that is part of the
homework). Make sure you send it to the above email address, and NOT the WIT email address.
1. Download the “Student Questionnaire”, from one of the course websites above:
Fill in as much of the information you feel like divulging and hand it in. Be creative and format it
as you would a resume.
2. This exercise is the “Acronym Finder” problem from Grauer and Barber, Exploring Brief Office
XP. (You don’t need to get that book)
Do you know what the acronym, PCMCIA stands for? Some might say it stands for "People Can't
Memorize Computer Industry Acronyms", although the real meaning is "Personal Computer
Memory Card International Association", which refers to the PC cards that are used with notebook
computers. Use your favorite Internet search engine to locate a site that publishes lists of
acronyms. Select five computer related terms and create a short document with the acronym and
its meaning. Select a second list of any five acronyms that appeal to you. Print the document and
submit it to your instructor. Format it nicely. Put your name on top of your document

3. Download the file “W2_WordFormatPractice” from the course website. Format it to look like the
document on the next page. Note – the actual text is not important. The point is to make
embedded tables with legends within columns
