HTML Assignment: Creating a Personal Bio Page, Assignments of Communication

Instructions for an html assignment where students are required to create a webpage introducing themselves. Using the HTML tags learned in class, create a web page to introduce yourself. Provide basic information about you, your interests, your goals, your
collections – your choice! Create your HTML document using an ASCII text application such as Notepad. Fill in answers to questions below, save
this Word document, and FTP this completed assignment along with your webpage and images to the Classwork server.
PREP YOUR DISK
Inside the TCOM264 folder on your disk, create a folder named a04_bio_yourlastname (a-zero-four-underscore-bio-underscore-actually
your last name. Be sure to use underscores (_) in place of spaces).
Inside the a04_bio folder, create a folder named images. Save all images to this folder.
REQUIREMENTS
Your web page should include the following:
4 Standard webpage tags in the appropriate locations AND an appropriate title on the browser window (2 pts.)
Use of the header tag to alter visible text (changes size, makes text bold, adds paragraph line break) (1 pt.)
Show one example of text formatting: bold, italic, or underlined (1 pt.)
Center text (1 pt.)
One example of line breaking: <br>, <p>, or <hr> (1 pt.)
Alter the font size of visible text using the <font size> tag (changes size, but does not bold or add paragraph space) (1 pt.)
Show at least one example of a special character (1 pt.) WHICH ONE DID YOU USE? _________copyright________________
A list (1 pt.) BONUS: EARN ONE POINT EXTRA CREDIT BY USING A LIST NOT DISCUSSED IN CLASS
Two examples of altered text color within the body of your document. At least one example should use a hexidecimal value (2 pts.)
One (working) external absolute hyperlink to another website (1 pt.)
Include at least three images (jpg or gif). At least one image should be manipulated from its original size and with a border (3 pts.)
Use the IMAGE ALIGN tag to wrap text around at least one image (1 pt.) Be sure to position your text and images correctly so that the
wrapping text is visible.
Good content: Interesting, well-written, no typos or grammatical errors. (2 pts.)
Correctly named files (no spaces or characters in filenames, proper extensions), all posted to classwork server. (2 pts.)
BONUS : Add up to two additional tags. One bonus point for each tag used correctly (up to two points). Review the HTML Resources provided
in your EXTERNAL LINKS section of BlackBoard (Big Nose Bird, Wikipedia, and Bare Bones) or use your own resources. The possibilities are
endless! (examples: blockquote, citation, manipulate horizontal rule, comments, strike, blink, marquee, rollovers, table tricks, positioning
