Now that you have collected your data in class regarding your classmates’ heights and right foot length, it is
time to consider what you might be able to infer.
Answer the following questions:
1. Does your data support a relationship between height and right foot size?
If so, describe that relationship.
Yes, it is a slight positive correlation between height and foot size.
2. Is this relationship different between males and females?
If so, describe how this relationship differs between males and females.
They both have a positive correlation however, the females correlation is slightly steeper than
males.
3. Do you believe that your sample size is large enough to responsibly make inferences about the
variability in your results? Explain.
I do not believe it is large enough because it is not a good sample, we need differences in ethnicity,
location, etc. also there can be a greater amount of deviation with smaller sample sizes.
4. What biases in your data might affect the interpretation of your results? Explain how these biases
and other sample limitations might limit you from making determinations about the relationships
between height and foot size in a broader context.
A bias would be that it is commonly known that the taller someone is, the bigger their shoe size.
This might cause someone to make their data fit that narrative.
5. What do you suggest that can be done to expand this study in order to better understand the
relationships between height and foot size?
Increase sample size and also choosing samples from different areas.
