Lab Structure Alternate weeks Tuesday-Friday, 9-11am Donna will attend between 9:30 and 10:30 to answer questions. Students familiar with Excel can attend the labs to work through the Units rather than attending the lecture classes.

The Workbook Contains everything needed to complete the class

Assessment 100% Assignment Submission date: 4pm Friday 4th December (Week 10) Report + Spreadsheet Largely based on capital budgeting & sensitivity analysis Will be marked on: Competence in Excel Analysis of results

Unit 1 - Introduction to Excel History of Spreadsheets 5 Minute Break Introduction to Microsoft Excel 2007 Cells Formulas Toolbars Cut, Copy & Paste

Visicalc 1978 - Visicalc written for the Apple II by Dan Bricklin & Bob Frankston Flexible, but only basic formulas supported Encouraged IBM to enter the Personal Computer market

Development 1980 - Supercalc (Osborne Portable) 1983 - Lotus 1-2-3 (IBM PC) 1984 - AppleWorks (Apple II)
