Journal #
The main point is that the people in the article are cowards. Not one of them called the police knowing it could have saved the woman’s life. I find it disturbing, that even if it was a lovers quarrel, someone still should have called the police.
Not one person telephoned the police during the assault; one witness called after the woman was dead. That was two weeks ago today. The police stressed how simple it would have beend to have gotten in thouch with them.
Well for one the first sentence I used in #2 is one of them and it made me think that the people who witnessed this crime and not call the police are cowards.
Probably not the best one but I was at a local bar with my sister back in Houston. We were having a great time drinking, laughing, and being sisters when out of the
corner of my eye I see this man and his girlfriend arguing. Now we are all 3 sheets to the wind by then, but that is still no excuse to hit a woman; even if she makes you mad. To my sisters regret I jump in and tell the man that he had no right to put his hands on
her. His reply was that if I was man enough to take her place then I should step up. I did. Then woman of course made a huge scene blaming the whole matter on me, but I didn’t care. I stepped up and told him if he had the balls to hit her then he should have
the balls to hit me as well. He never did. To this day I ask myself if I should have stepped down that night and just a guy or the bouncer step in instead. Then I think
nah…. There will never be a day that I don’t stand up for someone who cannot stand up for themselves.
