The story presents two different lives, the life of the narrator and the life of the vendor , depending on one’s station in life, different opportunities present themselves. The narrator follows the vendor throughout the day and the act of buying a champorado takes on a much deeper meaning as the audience gets to witness firsthand the struggles that individuals in this business go through as well as the relation between the vendor and the narrator
with the narrator as the main concept of the story. First, the narrator refuses to buy the chocolate porridge but she stays and listens to how the vendor deals with it. During the day the Champorado vendor remains busy in vending his gremlins through the puddles of the resort. The main plot can be discussed to come to the revelation of a difficult life of the boy when the narrator comes across the slipper of the vendor that has been torn. The narrator appears as a rather tender and sensitive person, who considers himself and others as well. He also relates with the Champorado vendor, he sees minor things such as the slipper of a boy who was with the vendor and the pot that was black due to the soot and the Champorado Vendor means that despite of the various problems that the vendor reports to have, he continues to conduct his business as usual. Symbolizing hardships he wears a pair of ugly slippers on his swollen feet and his blackened pot continues to suggest that he does not stop working. The main idea which lies at the foundation of the story is the conflict of sympathy and socio-economic differentiation. The narrator and the vendor represent two parallel universes: the one which was of little hardship and the other was of great difficulty. If the vendor suffers real suffering, the narrator ruminates on the burden and privilege of context and agency. The story of "Another Universe" is also full of symbolism and imagery, which richens the emotional content Of course, the most noticeable symbol is that slipper broken
by the vendor. This image denotes the fragility of his situation, but not only on the physical level since he has to walk around with inappropriate shoes, but also metaphorically, as if he is trying to navigate through the challenges of life. Conclusion the story is the way in which this small encounter with a struggling champorado vendor makes the narrator realize about life it show how life could really be very hard for others broken slippers and the hard work of the vendor point out to how tough life can get to some people. The narrator could feel for strugglers, but she had no idea how to help those in need. The story helps to think how differently other people's lives could be, and if we would have handled the same challenge if we were in their place.
