Math 280 Multivariable Calculus – Learning Videos Section 12. The 12th^ video in a Kahn Academy sequence covering our chapter 12. video demonstrating the “distance from point to plane” https://www.khanacademy.org/math/linear-algebra/vectors-and-spaces/dot-cross-products/v/point- distance-to-plane When you get to this page, you will find a 12 minute video that explains how to find the distance from a point off a plane to that plane (minimum distance). You will notice that this particular video is a continuation of other videos. When you get to the lesson page, if you look at the left side of the screen, near to top of the page, you will find a set of 13 videos that all tie into our chapter 12 materials. You may have to use the scroll feature to find all 13 videos. I encourage you to consider starting your video watching on the video “cross product introduction” which is the 7th^ video in this sequence. Note that the first 11 videos in the sequence will be mostly review of what we have already covered. The 8th^ video, “proof of relationship between cross product and sin of angle” is a formal statement of what I mentioned in class about cross product and the sin function. The 9th^ video compares the dot product and the cross product which I briefly discussed in class. The 10th^ video explains the vector triple product expansion which will be similar to the two methods I demonstrated for finding the cross product by using the determinant. The 11th^ video demonstrates how to find a normal vector from a plane equation and this video is a repeat of what we have already covered in our videos. The 13th^ video is a simple application of the content in the 12th^ video to find the distance between two parallel planes. Your required viewing is the 12th^ video and that is the link provided. I encourage you to watch as many other video on this page as you feel can be useful to your learning.

You should watch all three videos. The other two videos cover the following topics. parametric equation differentiation parametric equations practice differentiation
sections 13.1 – 13.4 suggested review videos vector-valued functions introduction https://www.khanacademy.org/math/multivariable-calculus/multivariable-derivatives/position-vector- functions/v/position-vector-valued-functions This video is the first of a set of four videos in a combined lesson on Kahn Academy. All four videos apply to our lessons. The other two videos cover the following topics. vector-valued functions differentiation differential of a vector-valued functions vector-valued function derivative example
