Mini-Project 3: Assignment
- Prepare a presentation on the memory hierarchy of a system based on one of the following ( consider all caches, main memory, virtual memory support, any special ISA support, trace caches): - AMD Opteron - Intel Pentium 4 - IBM PowerPC 970FX (G5) or POWER4 or POWER - High end SUN UltraSPARC based system - Itanium
- 15 minutes for each presentation, 15 minutes for all discussion
- Focus on key points
- Do not discuss multiprocessor issues, including cache coherence
- Assume everyone has attended lectures
