MICROSOFT SURFACE:
Microsoft Surface is a forthcoming product from Microsoft which is developed as software and
hardware combination technology that allows a user, or multiple users, to manipulate digital
content by the use of natural motions, hand gestures, or physical object. The product provides
effortless interaction with digital content through natural gestures, touch and physical objects.
Microsoft Surface is a planned series of tablet PCs designed and marketed by Microsoft. The
Surface is available in two versions, "Surface" and "Surface Pro". Surface will run the Windows
RT operating system and use an ARM CPU. Surface Pr will run the Windows 8 Pro operating
system and use an Intel CPU.
The product was announced by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer at a Los Angeles event on June
18, 2012, at Milk Studios. Surface is a 30-inch display in a table-like form factor that’s easy for
individuals or small groups to interact with in a way that feels familiar, just like in the real world.
It’s a surface that comes to life for exploring, learning, sharing, creating, buying etc.
SMART PHONE:
A cell phone that includes additional software functions (as e-mail or an Internet browser) is
known as smart phone. Smartphones provide digital voice service as well as text messaging, e-
mail, Web browsing, still and video cameras, MP3 player, video viewing and often video calling.
In addition to their built-in functions, smartphones can run myriad applications, turning the once
single-minded cellphone into a mobile computer.
Advancements in technology, modern smartphones are smaller and cheaper than earlier devices.
The RIM Blackberry dominated the smartphone market for many years, other manufacturers like
Apple, HTC, and Samsung now offer a wide variety of smartphone options as well. This increase
in smartphone availability has led to a corresponding decline in the usage of standard PDAs,
which do not include phone capabilities.
