Module 1 – Lesson 1
→ 1980’s – started in factories on manual task; WWII studying the interaction between humans and machines for weapons systems. → Ergonomics Research Society (1949) – ergonomists; concerned with how physical characteristics of machines and systems effects on users performances. → Human factors: physical and cognitive issues → “machines- human interactions” → System Analysis – identifying the technologies were requirements fits to the job or workplace. → HCI – design, implementation, evaluation of interactive systems → Users – someone who is trying to get done any kind of technology → Interaction – any communication between users and technology Why HCI? → Technology must be built for task in daily works; system designers must understand to think for the user’s preference. → Interface and system should be design together.
