a) Differentiate between process limits and specification limits. (6 marks) b) Parts are made by injection moulding using a three impression tool, i.e. three products are made from one shot of the tool. Table Q1.1 shows the weight of the parts from the first 10 samples after setup. The specification is 250g 10g i. Calculate the limits for a Mean and Range chart from the data table Q1. (8 marks) ii. Calculate the Cp and Cpk values for the machine using information obtained in part (i) (8 marks) iii. Table Q1.2 gives the samples from the process at some later stage. Plot the values on a mean and range control chart with the limits from part (i). and comment on the results. ( 10 marks) Table Q1.
