In my life I've learned that true happiness comes from giving. Helping others along the way
makes you evaluate who you are. Being able to help is a privilege for us students for it
teaches us how to become concerned to those who are in need, it helps us to understand
the spirit of compassion and to share what we have to and abolish the selfishness hidden
deep within us. As part of the NSTP, anual activity, we conducted the Training Need
Assesment and Outreach program at Barangay Lingay, Kiangan, Ifugao last February 27,
2020.
In the morning at exactly 7:00 Am, we arrived at Wangiwang's residence. We waited for our
classmates to arrive in order for us to proceed to our destination. At 8:00, we went to
Piwong and started to travel going to Barangay Lingay. On our way, we saw that it was
rough and muddy road but it was fine with us. After 2 hours of traveling, we arrived at
Nungkigadan Elementary School safe. We rest for some minutes while waiting for our
companions to arrive so that we can have a snack. When we finished, we group ourselves
into Two. One group was led by Kagawad Marcelo Calingayan and the other group was led
by Kagawad Keneth Immaya. After grouping, we went to the assigned place to us to conduct
our Training Need Assesment at Sitio Bitu. It was a long journey! We go up and down until
we found some houses but sad to say the house owners are not at home so we started
walking again until we found another house and the owners are there. We rested for a
while, then we ask them if they are willing to be interviewed and they agree so we ask some
questions and gave some questionnaires. After that, we walk again and again until we finish
the assigned work to us.
It was already 12 noon but we are still far in our meeting place and each of us is already
hungry. On our way, Sir Kagawad git some bananas on one of the houses so we rest and ate
some to satisfy our hunger. At 1:00 Pm, we arrived at the school tired and hungry. Our
group rested for a while, the otjers started the outreach program. Aftet eating we also help
our classmates comducting the outreach program. We gave some contest and intermission.
We gave some prices and goods to both Children and adults. After the program, Sir Jeremy
explain and answer some question of the community about the TNA that we conducted.
Next, the community offer us to dance our native dance before we go home. When we
finish dancing, we clean and arrange all the materials . And finally, at 3:00 Pm, we started
going back home.
Yes, it was a tiring day but seeing the reaction of the People in Barangay Lingay proves that
our activity is successful! The joy, laughter and the warm approach of the people leave a Big
smile in our faces.
