2. What are Parts of VMGO CV/QP of the University which are connected to the Program
Outcomes? Explain. (10 points)
The Vision of CTU focuses on being globally recognized, inclusive, and community
responsive, which connects to Program Outcome 3 because it highlights the importance
of working effectively with people from different backgrounds and cultures. The Mission
emphasizes providing innovative, professional, and technical education, which supports
Program Outcome 1 since students are expected to articulate and discuss the latest
developments in their specific field of practice. The Goals of the University aim for global
competitiveness, leadership, and innovation, which align with Program Outcome 4
because students are encouraged to act with professional, social, and ethical
responsibility. The University Outcomes promote leadership, research, and sustainable
development, which strengthen Program Outcome 3 and Program Outcome 4 because
these outcomes require collaboration, independence, accountability, and responsible
decision making. The Patriotism of Core Value is connected to Program Outcome 5 since
it emphasizes appreciation and pride in Filipino history, culture, and heritage as stated in
RA 7722. Integrity and Transparency also support Program Outcome 4 by guiding
students to practice honesty, fairness, and ethical behavior in both academic and
professional settings. The Core Value of Unity supports Program Outcome 3 because it
promotes teamwork and cooperation with different sectors and communities. The Quality
Policy ensures quality instruction and continuous improvement, which helps students
achieve Program Outcome 2 by strengthening their communication skills in English and
Filipino, both in speaking and writing.
3. What is in-store for me in this subject? (10 points)
In this course, I expect to gain a deeper and clearer understanding of the contemporary
world and the major issues that shape today’s society. The course will help me understand
how globalization affects different countries, especially our own country, Philippines, in
terms of culture, economy, politics, and social life. I expect to learn how local and global
events are connected and how decisions made in one part of the world can influence
other nations. Through discussions and readings, I will become more aware of current
issues such as inequality, environmental problems, migration, and the role of technology
in modern life. This subject will also help improve my communication skills since I will be
required to participate in class discussions, write reflections, and present my ideas clearly
in English and Filipino. I expect to develop my critical thinking skills by analyzing real
world situations instead of just memorizing facts. Listening to the opinions of my
classmates will help me become more open minded and respectful of different
perspectives. Another important part of this subject is learning how to work effectively with
others. I also expect from this course to help me understand my role as a Filipino citizen
in a globalized world. By the end of the course, I hope to become more socially aware,
and responsible, with a stronger sense of purpose and readiness to face challenges in
my future career and in society.
