She was extremely grateful that I helped her. What is your biggest strength? - answer- I think my biggest strength is that I am very detail oriented. I always strive to pay close attention to whatever I'm doing or told whether it's

information about a patient, medical details, or procedural protocols. I think having this very meticulous approach to things in nursing is great for ensuring accurate assessments and a more thorough understanding of each patient's unique needs. I think being very detail oriented in the nursing field is a really great strength because it ensures overall safety and positive outcomes in the healthcare setting. What is your biggest weakness? How can you improve upon your weaknesses? - answer- I think my biggest weakness would be my lack of confidence. I often second guess myself when it comes to my decision making skills in the healthcare field. I think that my confidence is something that I can improve with more practice and time working in the clinical setting. Tell me a time when you had a difficult patient and how did you handle the situation. - answer- I had a bedbound patient who refused to use a bedpan due to embarrassment and discomfort with her situation. One evening, I noticed she was becoming increasingly agitated, so I sat down beside her and acknowledged her feelings, saying, "I understand it's tough to be in this position." I reassured her about maintaining her dignity and offered to use a privacy screen to make her more comfortable. Once she felt at ease, she reluctantly agreed to try the bedpan, and afterward, she expressed relief. This experience reinforced the importance of addressing both the emotional and medical needs of patients to help them through difficult situations. Describe a time when you made a mistake in clinical and what happened and what did you learn?

  • answer- When I was in my community health clinical rotation, I spent some time in a day center for geriatric patients. One of the tasks I did there was taking the blood pressures of the residents. When I was first starting off, my instructor gave us an electric blood pressure cuff to use to take the residents blood pressures. When I was using this to take the blood pressure of the first three residents, the numbers were quite high, indicating that they had hypertension. Now, I should have seen this as a red flag after the first resident since she told me that she had no history of high blood pressure and that value was pretty high for her. It wasn't until the third blood pressure I took with the electric cuff that I realized something was off. I went ahead and retook all three of the residents blood pressures manually and got normal values for all of them. I learned that when using a dinamap to take vital signs and the values are abnormal or seem off to go double check the vital signs manually Describe a time you made a mistake at work? - answer- As a tech on the med-surg floor, I once messed up by giving a patient their meal when they were supposed to be NPO for a procedure. I

regularly updating my skills, and maintaining open communication with the healthcare team. Prioritizing patient safety, being vigilant in assessments, and responding promptly to any changes in condition are integral aspects of my commitment to delivering high-quality care. What is your biggest success and why? - answer- I think my biggest success is when I ran my highschool's blood drive a year and a half ago.
