How can you improve upon your weaknesses? - answer- I think my biggest weakness would be my lack of confidence. I often second guess myself when it comes

to my decision making skills in the healthcare field. I think that my confidence is something that I can improve with more practice and time working in the clinical setting. Tell me a time when you had a difficult patient and how did you handle the situation. - answer- While I haven't faced a difficult patient scenario yet, I know it's part of the job. If it happens, I'd start by listening and trying to get where they're coming from. Keeping cool, acknowledging their concerns, and working together to find solutions feels like a more human way to handle things. I believe in teamwork, so if it gets challenging, I'd collaborate with my colleagues to ensure we provide the best care while understanding the patient's perspective. Describe a time when you made a mistake in clinical and what happened and what did you learn?

  • answer- When I was in my community health clinical rotation, I spent some time in a day center for geriatric patients. One of the tasks I did there was taking the blood pressures of the residents. When I was first starting off, my instructor gave us an electric blood pressure cuff to use to take the residents blood pressures. When I was using this to take the blood pressure of the first three residents, the numbers were quite high, indicating that they had hypertension. Now, I should have seen this as a red flag after the first resident since she told me that she had no history of high blood pressure and that value was pretty high for her. It wasn't until the third blood pressure I took with the electric cuff that I realized something was off. I went ahead and retook all three of the residents blood pressures manually and got normal values for all of them. I learned that when using a dinamap to take vital signs and the values are abnormal or seem off to go double check the vital signs manually Have you ever had a problem with a coworker before? If so, what was it and how did you handle it? - answer- I approach conflicts by being open and honest. If there's an issue with a coworker, I'd prefer having a one-on-one chat to understand each other's viewpoints. Building understanding and finding solutions together is important to me, as it helps create a supportive and harmonious work environment for everyone. What have your clinical instructors said about you? - answer- My clinical instructors have mentioned that I bring a compassionate touch to patient care, often going the extra mile to ensure their comfort. They've noted my collaborative spirit within the team and how I approach challenges with a positive mindset. I'm grateful for their guidance, and their feedback fuels my passion for nursing.
