Nursing Application Growing up, I wanted to pursue a career that is interesting, challenging, and one that has a fervent impact on people's lives. Medical fields such as special needs care, dressing sports injuries, and working in a nursing home have been the areas I have wanted to intervene and bring a significant change in the contemporary world. As a result, nursing is a profession that enables one to deal with a variety of patient care aspects, and as such, it has become a top priority career for me. In ensuring that I still make a difference in society today, I work part- time at a local nursing home despite being a full-time student and a collegiate athlete. Leadership and diversity are significant aspects of nursing. I have been enrolling in leadership programs to help me improve the relationship, which is usually established between a care provider and a patient. A nurse is a leader in that they are supposed to direct their patients and fellow team workers to ensure that efficient nursing care is given to the concerned parties. Diversity, on the one hand, ensures that patients are given optimum care despite their origins, race, sex, or profession. Patients should never be discriminated against but rather taught on how to overcome their situation. Learning these two aspects has dramatically improved my understanding of nursing and patient care in general. I would like to give back to society by treating patients and being able to direct them to recovery as fast as possible. Nursing is a very busy profession that requires commitment and accountability. I have been a person able to handle pressure, as I am involved in lots of activities that have prepared me to contain the stress that comes with being a nurse. For example, I played three sports during my high school career, which I handled calmly. As such, I am sure I can cope with issues involving helping suffering people, that is, patients.
