Mr. Salman Shah is a renowned industrialist and CEO of SS Group of Companies. He
decided to pay back something to the society thus formed an organization called
“Humanity International”. The basic aim of this organization is to work for the
betterment of the livelihood of the people in society through eradicating poverty,
improving health facilities and quality of education and disaster management.
Few Social Organizers (SOs) were appointed to work on grass roots level and interact
with the masses to find out the basic and immediate needs. The SOs were facing
difficulties in conducting their day to day operations as they had to go through highly
formalized procedures and with limited information from the high ups. They were bound
to go to the immediate supervisor followed by decisions from higher management.
On completion of the first phase, the report published by the Executive Director of
“Humanity International” was shocking, mentioning that the targets set are not achieved
as planned and there is need to look into the matter thoroughly.
Looking at the above scenario, answer the following questions:
Question No.1:
Pinpoint and explain the organizational design (Structure) adopted in the scenario? (10
marks)
Question No.2:
Analyzing the scenario, which organizational design (Structure) can be used for such
organizations and why? (15 marks)
Note:
Only in the case of Assignment, 24 hours extra / grace period after the due
