essays. Do not repeat the same errors. Your goal is to show improvement.
When you type your essay as a Google Doc, DO NOT type your name any
where on it. You will submit it in turnitin so I will know it is yours. You will be given
another student’s paper to evaluate, and I want it to be anonymous.
Your essay must be double spaced and be divided into 4 paragraphs.
Due: by the end of the class period Thursday, Jan. 10. You will have class time
on that day to work on the essay. Submit your essay to turnitin.com. Make sure
that you put Scott as the Submission title.
GRADING: Several daily grades will be taken from this essay. You will be graded
for each of the following parts (10 pts. each): hook, thesis, topic sentence
(reason 1), BHIP example 1, Transition/Topic Sent. (reason 2), BHIP example 2,
full circle ending from hook, recap of reason 1, recap of reason 2, and rhetorical
device. Other grades will be given for revision, evaluation, and word choice/
emotional appeal.
