One Dimensional Kinematics WebQuest Answer Sheet
Lesson 1 !
1. Kinematics is the study of motion.
2. Scaler has mass, density, time, and vector has weight, force, velocity.
3. Distance is a measure of “how much space is in the limited area during the motion”, and Displacement is a
measure of “how far the space is the object”.
4. Distance is “90ft apart”, and the Displacement is “hit a ball out of the park”.
5. Speed is the magnitude of velocity, and Velocity is the speed of object.
6. Acceleration is the rate of change of the velocity in a object.
7. Direction depends on the “object is speeding up or slowing down”, and Acceleration Vectors depends on the
“the change of velocity”.
8. The positive sign of Velocity is when the “object is moving in the positive direction on the coordinate system”,
and the negative sign of Velocity is when the “object is moving in the negative direction”. The positive sign of
Acceleration is when the “object is moving in the opposite direction with the speed still increasing”, and the
negative sign of Acceleration is when the “object is slowing down”.
Lesson 2 !
9. In Motion, the object was “moving fast during that time interval”.
10. In the Vector Diagram, the length of the arrow is “creating accordance with the chosen scale”.
Lesson 3 !
11. In the Time Graph, the slope is “constant”.
12. In the Time Graph, the slope is in “constant speed with velocity changing”.
13. In the Time Graph, the slope is “equal to velocity”.
14. In the Time Graph, Runner A starts “west of the origin, walking towards the origin, continuing to walk east.
And, Runner B starts at the origin, walking east”.
15. In the Time Graph, the car is “constant, moving rightward”.
16. In the Time Graph, the car is in a “positive direction, negative velocity”.
17. The slope “equals the rise divided by the rise”.
Lesson 4 !
18. In the Time Graph, the car is traveling in a “zero slope, constant speed”.
