Candidates are requested to answer two of the following questions.
1. Using examples from its methods, what characteristics distinguish applied
behaviour analysis from other approaches in psychology?
2. With reference to the main punishment procedures, discuss the proposition
that punishment is inappropriate in a behaviour modification programme.
3. Outline the main differential reinforcement strategies that can be used to
decrease undesirable behaviour.
4. With reference to research in the field how has applied behaviour analysis
contributed to the treatment of autism?
5. Evaluate the claim that research on the functional assessment and analysis of
abherrant behaviour has made a unique contribution to the field of applied
behaviour analysis.
