Don't miss anything!

bg1
I. Brief introduction stating the purpose and goals of the exercise
II. Procedure discussion
a. Brief technique description
b. Brief tools discussion
c. Brief discussion to chosen analytical techniques
III. Introduction of Data Typically in the form of Tables and textual
references
a. For Example Table 1: Data obtained by Student A using Micrometer
(with data following).
b. In the brief text in this section direct the reader to the specific Tables
as appropriate to make observable points.
IV. Data Analysis Section
a. Graphs included as Figures. Remember that a figure includes a
descriptive caption.
b. Brief textual reference to each of your significant graphs
V. Summary and Conclusions
a. Make reference to data tables and graphs
b. Draw specific data supported conclusions (I hate to see cutesy
observations in a summary as will most business or engineering
managers!)
Note the key word is brief the reports must include some level of textual
explanation. When dropping Excel data tables into the report be sure to insert a
Table Title with a description of what the table contains. You can not assume
that what is clear to you will be clear to a reader!!!!
Dropping graphs into your report also requires a Figure number and descriptive
Caption. Again don’t assume that the reader can find the appropriate graph
because your text is near it use EXPLICIT references by figure number and
table number.
