LEARNING TASK 1
Chosen questions here…
1. What would you do if there is a breakdown in communication at work?
2. Is it more important to be a good listener or a good communicator?
3. What would you do if you misunderstood an important communication on
the job/work?
I chose these questions because…
1. If there is a breakdown in communication at work, I will identify the problem
first. Listen to both sides’ reasons for communication breakdown. Then,
determine steps on how to deal with it. I will not get rush nor use harsh words
to add flame to the fire. Instead, I will be calm and approach the situation
politely and thoughtfully.

  1. Yes, it is more important to be a good listener or a good communicator because your way of bringing the message as a good communicator will bring essence to what your message is. 1. How minutes of the meeting relate to communication in the workplace? Meeting minutes provide a written record of what was discussed and agreed at a meeting, so you and your colleagues will have the same recollections from the agenda discussed and the same ideas about what was agreed. Meeting minutes document the most important points discussed during a meeting. They serve several purposes: Inform absent team members of the discussion and decisions made. Serve as a record of what is being discussed for future reference. Additionally, meeting minutes can help prevent disagreements and misunderstandings because people can review the minutes to determine what has occurred at the meetings. Administrative assistants need to provide a piece of clear information that attendees can refer to when questions arise later.
  2. Cite at least 5 purposes why a memo is being made Provide information - Memos are used to convey information. This information may be about a new policy, an explanation, or revision of an existing policy or procedure to implement any policy. Make requests - When additional information is required, we can use the memo to request further information e.g. to attend a meeting by a specific person, or to take prompt action, or any matter requests are usually made in memo form. Provide response - Requests made by the memo are usually answered by the memo. e.g. confirmation of attending any meeting or explaining the reason for not attending the meeting, accept or reject an invitation, to represent the organization at any outside meeting or other activity can be answered through a memo. Present informal report - Informal reports are commonly used by managers in planning, organizing, motivating, and controlling. Such reports can be presented through a memo containing information regarding

managerial decisions and also recommend a solution to a problem being researched. Acknowledge someone’s attention - when someone has made violations or disregards rules, memos can be used to get someone’s attention to reprimand someone’s behavior.

  1. How is business letter similar or different from other forms of letters? Cite at least 1 letter to compare with the business letter. The main thing that differentiates a business letter from other letters is that a business letter is a legal document. A business letter needs to be concise and clear. Being too wordy is the biggest downfall in this form of writing. Additionally, by the virtue of its purpose, business letters are written in a formal tone to convey your message professionally. On the other hand, a personal letter, especially one to a close friend, can be informal and may even contain colloquialisms which would be unacceptable in business communications.
  2. How will you imagine a company without an incident report if something happens in it? When an incident does occur it's important to have it reported formally. The simple rationale is that if you do not know an incident has occurred, then how will you address the potential hazards in your workplace and develop safer procedures for the future. If a company does not report incident reports, the company will be liable for the employees’ lives sake at work. ABSTRACTION

Tagum City, Davao del Norte July 15, 2021 Ms. Jennifer Esposito 7-Eleven Philippines Branch Manager Tagum City, Davao del Norte Dear Ms. Esposito: The 7-Eleven Philippines; Philippines Seven Corp has always appeared on the horizon for me. Ever since I decided to major in marketing management, I have wanted to participate in your corporation. From the research that I have done, I believe that your corporation provides its participants with an extensively detailed look at the progress of the world through hands-on experience with training and constructive feedback that hones employee’s experiences. I am applying for the 7-Eleven Philippines because I believe that it would benefit me throughout my career and allow me to further understand the ideas behind marketing management and how it should be taken care of. I am a very committed and goal-oriented person with excellent interpersonal skills. During the summer of 2019 and 2020, I interned at the PepsiCo Home as a marketing management trainee. Both times, I not only utilized my knowledge of marketing management, but I also learned a lot about how the process should be done. This experience has influenced me to intern as a marketing management trainee at the PepsiCo Home, where my love for marketing and learning from the tactile experience with experienced employees increased. I believe my skills, experience, and goals make me an excellent candidate for your corporation.

In Kapalong Market on Friday, June 28th, 2021, Samantha was stacking shelves while standing on a ladder to reach the top shelf of handbags at 4.10 pm. As she was stretching to place a bag on the shelf, the ladder collapsed from under her and she fell to the ground. Her co-worker heard the loud noise and immediately helped her. Samantha was in a lot of pain and could not get to her feet as she felt lightheaded. An ambulance was phoned, and she was brought to the hospital. Samantha obtained a broken right arm, bruised thigh and hip, and a bump to the head that left no major head injury. She was recommended three weeks off work at the minimum by doctors. The fall was concluded to be of nobody else’s fault but was put down to Samantha accidentally overreaching instead of moving the ladder to where she needed to see”. REFLECTION -- INSIGHTS! INSIGHTS

Building trust Providing clarity and direction Creates better relationship Promotes team building Improves productivity

Building trust - Effective communication fosters trust with others. Your ability to listen attentively and embrace different points of view helps others trust that you are making optimal decisions for everyone in the group. As you serve as a role model, this trust will extend to your team and they will feel as though they can trust their teammates to fulfill their duties and responsibilities. Preventing or resolving problems - The ability to communicate effectively plays a large role in resolving conflicts and preventing potential ones from arising. The key is to remain calm, make sure all parties are heard and find a solution that is ideal for everyone involved. Providing clarity and direction - With effective communication skills, you’re able to deliver clear expectations and objectives for your team. This involves finding constructive ways to point out when something isn’t working as well as providing helpful feedback to get people back on track. They will understand their specific tasks and responsibilities, as well as those of their teammates, which will help eliminate conflicts and confusion. Creates better relationships - Good communication also improves relationships, both with employees and in your personal life with friends and family members. Listening carefully and offering quality feedback helps people to feel heard and understood. This, in turn, nurtures mutual respect. Increases engagement - With people feeling more confident in their work and in their understanding of what they need to do, they become more engaged with their work as a whole. According to a recent study exploring the psychology of employee engagement, only 15% of adult employees are engaged with their employers. By prioritizing effective communication, you can increase engagement, and thus boost satisfaction, among your team members. Improves productivity - When team members understand their roles, the roles of others and your expectations, they can focus more on their work and less on workplace issues. With effective communication, conflicts are resolved
