We use some in positive sentences, we use any in negative sentences or questions. Ć Letās buy some apples. Ć No, I havenāt got any apples. Ć Have you got any apples? The same rule applies for words that contain some or any. Ć Thereās something in my shoe. Ć There is somebody in the garden. Ć I havenāt got anything to wear. Ć Is there anybody at home?
