Research design
The research design used in this study is a quantitative approach. It aims to
gather numerical data to analyze the relationship between having an OFW parent and
the academic performance of students. A structured questionnaire will be administered
to collect data from the participants. Cluster sampling will be used as the sampling
technique for this study. The questionnaire will consist of Likert scale questions,
designed to capture information about the effects of having an OFW parent to the
academic performance of students. Descriptive statistics will be employed as the
primary method for analyzing the collected data in this study. The focus of the analysis
will be to provide a comprehensive summary and description of the participants'
responses.
Research Locale
The research study will be conducted in Mobo National High School. Mobo
National High School is located in Tomas Aban St. Poblacion 2, Mobo, Masbate. The
study will be conducted within the premises of the school, focusing on students of senior
high grade 11 and 12. The respondents for this research study will be selected from
these grade levels. To gather data for this research, the researcher will select 15
students from each grade level, totaling 30 participants. The selection process will aim
to ensure a representative sample of students from various grade levels within the
school.

Research design The research design used in this study is a quantitative approach. The subject of the study includes students from grade 11 and 12 at Mobo National High School. The study will involve 15 students from each grade level, resulting in a total of 30 participants. These students possess varying backgrounds, interests, and experiences that contribute to the richness of the study's findings. The participants of this study will be students who have at least one parent working overseas as an OFW. The Instrument(s) The instrument that will be used in this research study will be a structured questionnaire. The questionnaire will be designed specifically to gather data related to the effects of having an OFW parent to the academic performance of students at Mobo National High School. It will be constructed, validated, and administered to the participants to collect the necessary information for the study. Data Gathering Procedure The selected participants will be provided with the survey questionnaire along with a clear explanation of the research objectives and instructions for completing the questionnaire. They will be given a specified period to respond to the questionnaire. To encourage participation, anonymity and confidentiality will be assured. Statistical Treatment of Data Upon gathering the data, the researchers will compile, sort, organize, and tabulate the collected information. These data will undergo statistical treatment to address the research questions proposed in the study. The statistical tools to be employed will include frequency distribution, percentage, ordinal scale, and weighted mean.
