Project Objective
To provide accurate Grade Point Average for student studies at the University level.
Define the problem
How to calculate student Grade Point Average as a university student, it is one of the most tools
in university through this Grade Point Average Calculate is easy to find out your GPA of
respective session or semester. The feedback you get when you figure out your GPA score will
let you know if you need to make adjustments in your study habits for assignments, review and
exams. It will also help them secure better jobs and being qualified for that job and provide
opportunities for them receiving a Government of Guyana Scholarship award to further they
studies since they are key eligibility requirement for the Government of Guyana Scholarships
which requires a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.3 for studies at Hugh Wooding Law
School.

ease in access and usage of this GPA Calculator. How to find out your Grade Point Average as a
university student, this proposed project intends to solve the problem by creating and
implementing a python program that will display your Grade Point Average (GPA) as a
university student based on the grade you receive for a particular subject/course or a research
project and the total credit for that subject or research project.
This project will display your GPA as a first, second; third, fourth and final year student and it
will display your overall GPA as a completed student. GPA = (Product of Credits and Grade
Point)/Sum of Credits. Number equivalent of letter grade: A = 4, B = 3, C = 2, D = 1. Grade F
is not counted i.e. the divisor shall be the total credits for the number of passed courses.
Exemptions are not counted in the computation. Calculation is to one decimal place. However,
decimals are NOT rounded off. The first passing grade in a given course is used in the
computation of GPA, except where an upgrade is done to meet the minimum GPA requirement
to graduate.
