Who am I?
Career Assignment.

Part A: Surgeon.
- Surgeons are very important personal in a hospital, from saving lives to taking in patients, to delivering the good and bad news. As a Surgeon their occupation is to specialize in treating injury, disease and even fixing deformities through operations. They use special instruments to correct these problems. They repair bone and tissues after injury. Even though a surgeon is tough to do anything the situation demands, most prefer to stick to or master a certain area, these include neurological surgery (treatment of the muscular or skeletal system), Neurological surgery (treatment of the brain and nervous system), cardiovascular surgery and plastic or reconstructive surgery. Like any other physician surgeons examine patients, preform and interpret diagnostic tests. A surgeon must be prepared to encounter any type of situation. They also need important skills to be able to go at a fast pace in case of an emergency. Some of these skills include; communication skills: in or outside surgery hours they need to know how to communicate with colleges, patients and even the patient’s families. Code words are usually used in-room surgery, meaning they are proceeding with a surgery, when they are, it wouldn’t be appropriate to just say “Pass me that thing over there.” There are proper words and communication skills involved in it. Speaking with patients and making them understand, along with family members or whoever accompanies them. Compassion: Surgeons are constantly dealing with new patients, from sick to injured, to patients who are suffering from intense pain, shock or discomfort. Treatment with kindness and understanding may affect positively the status of the patient, patience with family or whoever is accompanying the patient is also and important thing to keep in mind of, from declining to no sufficient funds to pay for the treatment, to families who are in denial, need emotional help, to families who blame you for not saving the patient. Detail oriented: Details is one of the most important traits in the career of becoming a surgeon. Surgeons need good eye sight to be able to spot issues that run deeper than the surface. Missing an important detail can have an enormous negative impact in the patient’s life. Patience: Surgeons spend unlimited hours standing, they need to always be alert during surgery and after it as well. Sleep is not always guaranteed and may stay at the hospital for days before coming home to family (If they have one). The need to work with children and families who may or may not be understanding. Surgeons usually work in a operation room, may study for long periods of time, or may even spend most of their lifetime inside the hospital, going through patient files and attending new patients. Even though many people want
June 10, y I have been to many places and would love to visit many more, but Flying attendant is also about helping people who don’t know where to find their seat, and yes this might seem like nothing, they could probably find their seat on their own, without anyone’s help, but maybe if I can make sure they are where they are supposed to be, they will be happy, and if they are happy then I am happy. B) I always enjoy helping students in class, from not understanding a question, to walking them step by step to what they need to do. Helping a new student find the way to their class, asking a teacher to lead us to that class. Working with my hands has always been a thing I love to do, before I came here to Canada there were extracurricular activities I enjoyed, one of them was sculpting, they would give us this chunk of mud and we shaped it in any way we wanted, I specially loved doing ballerinas, I remember I would take a rectangle place it vertically and star using my hands to shape the body and the head, then I would go into detail and make the bun in her hair, then I would move onto the pointe shoes, that was my favourite part, where I picked my utensil and started carving it and oh how satisfying was that. Surgeons use their hands for everything they do, and I like to use my hands for things too, even if its cutting bone or tendon, its still my hand doing It, and even though it might not be satisfying, well, ill be satisfied afterwards when I know I’ve saved a life.
- The majority of things about being a Surgeon, are good. Being able to save lives is one of the most beautiful things in the world, and I wouldn’t miss a chance to try it. The money income is good, and people will look up to you, be amazed by what you have accomplished (don’t really care what other people think). But there is only one bad thing about being a surgeon, that is family. Because you are spending such prolonged periods of time outside of home, your family may miss you or you them, if you have children is even worse, you can take maternity leave, but eventually you will have to go back to work and resume where you left off. You will need to pay for nannies if you are a single mom, If your husband also works. Things you have to think about, how long will you be gone, who will the child/ren stay with, do they have school tomorrow, when will I see them next? In general, deep inside of me I have always wanted to be a surgeon. I was never a fan of the cop, or the fire fighter. I wanted to work at a hospital and have patients trust me for what I love to do, not for what others maybe wanted me to do.

Part B): Architect
- Being an architect Is a pretty important career, one we need more of. Architects plan and design buildings. Such as homes schools, even hospitals, and of course other structures as well. They also contribute to saving materials, they manage them to keep projects on time and on budget, resources are important. They design everything, mostly structures, but the building you might be standing in right now, was first invented by an architect. To design a building or monument, and Architect uses special tools, and does sketches to plan where everything will go. These sketches usually contain; the building materials, mechanical parts, electrical wiring, and structural details. An Architect is not only responsible for the structure and shape of the building but also the parts which are to be used and the placing of the wiring and electric system. This means that they need to have precision when working and drawing specific structures, the shapes must be exact with measures and details they can only understand. But architects don’t exactly make a random drawing of a structure, hire a construction team and start building. Usually Architects work for architectural companies, these are: building contractors, government agencies, real estate companies, and some even self-employ. Either way, the sketch, not messy or illegible, is sent to be approved by a major position, who then will decide if it is appropriate for constructing. After the sketch is approved, a location for the building must be picked, once it is picked, the architect is free to begin construction. Architects are a very important part of any community, that help shape and modernize, even fix the city around them. They also help us with privacy, giving us space, or a beautiful open area, open for hospitality. In these later years, architects have improved and become more important for all of the communities. They show us new ways of life, from round houses, to beautiful cathedrals, yeah, that was an architect too. Their earnings are these: Lowest is $80K and the highest is $100K, it usually ranges in-between.
- To be an architect you need to pursue the University path, but you need to take some extra courses through out high school. Mathematics are needed, as well as visual arts. Some extra courses throughout university also apply. Once you have surpassed all of those necessary courses you automatically start you job as an architect, you can work for yourself or you can work for another company, your choice.
June 10, y the building of your creation. I also didn’t know your sketch had to be shown to someone with more authority than you, had to be processed, then accepted to then be able to build it.
