All staff and students on any of Imperial College London sites and internally contracted maintenance staff working on any Imperial College campus Key Working Relationships (external): Visitors to Imperial College campuses and VIPs attending site. External contractors working on any of Imperial College campuses. Contract type: Permanent / Days and Nights Shifts (Full-time 48 hours ) Purpose of the Post The work of the Security Officer is to assist with the provision of security services to ensure a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors on campus in accordance with College Policy, Security Standing Orders and Instructions. As a key member of the Security Department the postholder must be fully committed ensuring a professional, customer-orientated and value for money service is provide to the College Community. Responsibility involves the protection of persons, property and prevention of crime. Duties includes routine patrol and monitor assigned campuses on various shifts; responding to different types of emergencies; investigation and incident report writing and work on specific tasks as directed by the Team Leader. All duties must be completed in a professional and timely manner and meet relevant legislations. As a customer-facing role, the postholder must reflects the exceptional customer service skills - one that performs the job to a very high standard. Officers needs to communicate effectively and be approachable to a diversity range of people with the aim of enhancing the customer experience and service, in line with College’s values and behaviours.
