How to Plan, Schedule, and Register for future semesters

Determine which classes you need.

You can plan your classes with your Student Education Plan, or SEP. You will

need your Program Curriculum sheet to help you pick your classes. You can

use this to quickly access it:

http://www.pittcc.edu/academics/programs/index.html

If you need to change your major see your Advisor before you select your

classes. That will save you a lot of work!

Click on Educational Options to access the programs offered. Some programs use different words, like Courses, Resources, Degree Programs, or Curriculum. Look for the Degree, Diploma, or Certificate which you are working on.

Use the three letter and three number course prefix when typing in the class you want. If you look at the Curriculum sheet, you must take GRD 110 in Fall 1, before you can take GRD 111 in Spring 1. If you don’t have the Prerequisites before you take the class, you will not be allowed to take it.

Developmental English and Math requirements are located at the bottom, along with your choice of Electives for your Program. If you are on Financial Aid, you can only take classes listed on your Curriculum sheet.

After you click on Student Education Plan under Quick Access, you should click

on Plan your Degree & Register for Classes.

At the top of the screen you will see a “Search for courses” box. Type in the three letters and

three numbers for the class you need to plan from your Program sheet. For example, GRD 110.

As you can see, it is filtered by Spring Semester 2018, but GRD 110 is not offered. GRD 111 is the first class to appear. GRD 111 has reminders in the Requisites that states the student must take GRD 110 and GRD 152 before the student can take GRD 111. If the student tries to take it, the student will get a warning and be blocked from taking GRD

When you try to schedule a class

and you don’t have the

prerequisites, it will give you this

notice on your schedule and also

on your Timeline.

Once you plan all of your classes,

select your class days and times on

your schedule, by clicking on “View

other sections”. You will see all class

days and times offered for that

course. Select the days and times for

all of your classes in for the next

semester. You are only able to

schedule days and times for classes

for the next semester. You can

always Plan your classes for the future

and schedule them when they are

available.

Once you planned and scheduled all of your classes, you need your Advisor or Success Navigator to review it

and approve it. Click on the Advising tab, then click Request Review. This will send an email to your

Advisor/Success Navigator and they will approve your classes that fall under your Program.

Contact your Advisor or Success

Navigator.

Meet with your Academic Advisor or Student Success Navigator so they can

approve your plan and help you if you need further assistance. You can plan

your classes with your Student Education Plan, or SEP. If you are a first year

student, you must meet with your Student Success Navigator before you can

register for the next semester.
