What is verbal comprehension? - Answer-This index looks at one's ability to communicate information
(what they know), reason verbally through problems, & utilize abstract reasoning skills (like telling how
two things are related)
what substests are involved in verbal comprehension? - Answer-similarities, vocabulary, information
similarities subtest - Answer-task that looks at how well someone can find a commonality between 2
words. In order to successfully complete this task they need to stay focused on listening to the words,
finding the best way to describe relationship
vocal subtest - Answer-Measures someones general knowledge of words (or vocab) through either
showing a photo and then the child will say what the photo is OR through the administrator saying a
word and then the child will define the word
information subtest - Answer-information that measures general knowledge, long term memory, and
facts. The individual needs to show that they know usually general knowledge/facts ex: how many
months are in a year
What is visual spatial? - Answer-This index looks at one's ability to process information visually (part-
whole relationships) and attention to detail
